Hello Families,
Next week we will be celebrating Literacy Week at BBMD. Please see the attached flyer and read below for more info.
Monday- Family Reading Day: Families are invited to meet their child(ren) in the gym between 1:10-2:40 to share a story. Families may choose to bring a book from home. Students will also bring a book with them. If you are available to visit, family members should check in at the office and we will call your child(ren) down to meet you.
Tuesday- Tell Me About it Tuesday & D.E.A.R Day: The entire student body will be given a topic to write about for 5 minutes today. Pieces will be selected from each class to be shared on a bulletin board in the hallway! D.E.A.R stands for Drop Everything and Read. Throughout the day, students will also periodically hear an announcement to take out their book and read!
Wednesday- Author Visit & Read My Shirt Day: We are excited to have Keonte Beals visit BBMD to present his "I Am Experience" book tour. Students are also encouraged to wear a shirt with school appropriate language on it (Ex. Be Kind, Happy, Just Do It, etc.)
Thursday- Reading Buddies & Bookmark Design Day: Classes will be paired up with a partner and get together to read and design bookmarks!
Friday- Read to a Furry Friend & PJ Day: Students are invited to bring a small stuffed animal from home and wear their pjs!
